The bright and colourful homepage is well-organised and very user-friendly. The links are clearly located at the top. These include Online Activities, Lesson PlansTeaching Strategies, and Tools.

For easy access, the online activities and lesson plans are categorised according to grade, learning activity, and curricular area. The curricular areas covered include language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Each curricular area is in turn subdivided into various topic areas.

For example, under language arts, one can easily access lesson plans and worksheets on emergent writing, descriptive writing, biographies, poetry, and response to literature. Students’ sample work is also available. In addition, some lesson plans offer useful suggestions on cross-curricular activities.

As for teaching strategies and tools, these include discussion of timely topics, provision of reading resources, and advice to new teachers. To access certain tools and resources – in particular, Teacher ToolkitClass Homepage Builder, and Class Port Email Exchange – users need to register and sign in. The latter tool can be used to share ideas and collaborate with teachers in other countries.

The website offers practical help for designing fun and interesting lessons that meet your particular learning objectives. However, teachers using the materials may need to adapt some of the lesson plans, advice, and pointers to our local context.
